Planted in November of 2004 between Anderson Biological Laboratories and Keith-Weiss Geological Laboratories, the botany garden serves as a living laboratory.  The garden contains plants useful for teaching students about plant classification, affording students hands-on experience with classifying techniques and an opportunity to work with plants they would see otherwise only in textbooks.  Generous donations by the District IV, Texas Chapter of the National Garden Clubs and the Houston Federation of Garden Clubs made the botany garden possible.
